Local Outreach Opportunities:

The Christian Care Center exists to help those within our community by providing food, clothing, and financial assistance during their time of need. Each month FBW Wylie sends teams to the Care Center to help by filling orders, separating clothes and stocking donated food. The Samaritan Inn is more than just a place to spend the night. It is a holistic program that teaches self-sufficiency and life skills. To assist the needs of individuals and families before, during, and after a homeless situation, The Samaritan Inn provides interactive, in-house programs for its residents and graduates. Exodus Ministries assists Dallas County female ex-offenders that are re-entering society after incarceration in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice system and have demonstrated a willingness to make positive changes in their life. These women are dealing with the residual pain of having been separated from their children for a long period of time and do not have the immediate financial resources to sustain their family. Each Thursday before Halloween the downtown merchants have a Fall Festival where they provide candy to hundreds of children within our community. As a church we participate by opening up our church and our trunks by passing out candy and tracts. A ministry of Buckner International, provides new shoes and socks to orphans and at-risk children in the United States and throughout the world. From conducting shoe drives to humanitarian aid trips, SOS offers hands-on opportunities to individuals, groups and organizations wanting to transform lives. Since 1999, 2 million pairs of new shoes and socks have been distributed to children in 68 countries.

The Cornerstone Baptist Church is located in the inner-city community of South Dallas. For over 45 years, the church has been committed to touching the lives of residents in this neighborhood by meeting “felt” needs and sharing with them their “real need” -- a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Two days a week for 6 weeks during the summer months a team from FBW prepares lunches for underprivileged children in our community.

Each year, during the month of April, First Baptist Wylie seeks to change the community of Wylie by providing strategic outreach projects targeted towards reaching the lost with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

This year we will be hosting block parties, leading out in a community blitz, as well as providing our church family with servant evangelism opportunities.

Mission Wylie is our community mission trip. Each year God allows us to circumnavigate our globe on foreign mission. Mission Wylie is us going across the street to help with construction projects, Back Yard Bible Clubs, feeding and clothing those in need and leading out in servant evangelism projects.

Each month First Baptist Wylie reaches out to our community and Metro Dallas by partnering with homeless shelters and rehab centers. We also lead Bible Clubs, outreach projects, and block parties under the banner of our 2nd Mile Outreach.

CORNERSTONE MINISTRIES, INC. is a 501c3 non-profit corporation established primarily for the purpose of spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ to inmates.

In 1990 Chaplain Al Gibbons made his first visit to a Texas prison and sensed that God was calling him to prison ministry.  He received confirmation of his calling when his church commissioned him to serve as a missionary to prisons and jails.  When Cornerstone Ministries, Inc. was founded in 1992, we didn't envision the enormous growth that we've experienced; but, we trusted the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the Word.  Over the years we've visited and ministered to thousands of inmates.
