Preschool Ministry

First Faith Steps… The Preschool Ministry at First Baptist Wylie is designed to meet the needs of children ages birth through kindergarten. This ministry is a cooperative effort between home and church as parents and staff team up to teach preschoolers about Jesus. A child’s preschool years are vital to their first faith steps. It is an honor to partner with parents as they build the foundation that will ultimately lead their children to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  We are privileged to be sharing this special time with your family and preschoolers.

Preschool & Nursery Policies:

All Preschoolers, Newborns through Kindergarten, are welcome to stay for all sessions while mom & dad go to Growth Groups and worship. Teachers in all sessions will provide Bible truths and activities to share Jesus with even our smallest members! Please have only one parent pick up your child. Our hallways are crowded during transition times and this helps with congestion. Siblings and family members may wait in the area outside the preschool wing. Please do not enter the rooms when dropping off or picking up your preschooler. Infant formula, milk or water must be provided in plastic bottles. Formula and juice must be prepared by the parent. Please have bottles ready for feeding. Caregivers are not allowed to mix formula or food.

Upon the recommendation of the Committee of Control of Infectious Diseases the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends a child should not be taken from the home when any of the following exist:

· Temperature above 99 degrees

· Eye infections (i.e. “pink eye”)

· Strep infection

· Lung infections or sinus infections

· Colds with frequent coughing, sneezing and/or colored nasal drainage

· Tuberculosis

· Hepatitis

· Meningitis

· Flu of any kind

· Some skin infections (i.e. impetigo, ringworm, fever blisters, etc.)
