Seniors Ministry

First Baptist Church has an extensive and very active senior adult ministry.  We welcome any senior adult to take part in our activities, as we enjoy fun, fellowship, and continued spiritual growth.

Allen Stroud is the Associate Pastor of Senior Adults.

HAPPY CIRCLE:
Happy Circle is one of the activities held on a regular monthly basis, and consists of a special luncheon (free) and an entertaining program for all attendees.  A meeting is scheduled on the 1st Monday of each month for seniors from FBC, as well as the surrounding communities.  The program begins at 11:00 a.m., and is followed by lunch.

TRIPS:
Seniors are given the opportunity to take short day trips, as well as longer and more extensive trips, at nominal costs.  They vary from going to see the Christmas lights in Marshall, Texas, to a 2-week tip to Maine and the East Coast.  There are usually several trips planned each year, and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

SILVER CHORDS:
The Silver Chords are the Senior Adult Choir.  They meet to rehearse on the 2nd and 4th Monday mornings of each month at 9:30 a.m. in the Choir Room.  This choir is open to any senior adult who likes to sing and fellowship! You do not have to be able to read music!  They sing in the Worship services on a regular basis, and go on a yearly mission trip to South Texas to minister to the "Winter Texans."
