Student Ministry : Progressive Hearts Youth Camp 2011

2011 Theme - Justified:

Many times when a student starts battling with sin in their life the response is to withdraw from the church. Often times they withdraw until they "clean it up", or on the worse side, they never come back. Instead of falling on the cross of Christ, they try to handle it themselves and until they do, they isolate themselves from the church. On the other side of the equation there are students in the youth group that look at themselves and don't see themselves battling with the sin that this student is; they puff out their chest in pride all the while quietly approving of the other students withdraw. Both of these students have a gross misunderstanding of the gospel. Instead of living a life by faith in the work of Christ Jesus, they are living a morality-based faith. This year we are going to take a broad look at Romans chapters 1-8 to see what the gospel really is and what it is not, and also look at what it means to live "in Christ Jesus." The 2011 theme for PH is "Justified" which comes from Romans 5:1. "Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."
